From 'Fake-Trying' to Get Pregnant with her Ex to Offering to be Kim's Surrogate: Khloé Kardashian's Long Journey to Motherhood

From 'Fake-Trying' to Get Pregnant with her Ex to Offering to be Kim's Surrogate: Khloé Kardashian's Long Journey to Motherhood

by Christina Dugan @ PEOPLE.com

Being a mom has always seemed to be in the back of Khloé Kardashian’s mind, but the road to motherhood hasn’t always been easy.

On Tuesday, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 33, and her NBA boyfriend, Tristan Thompson — whom she has been dating since September 2016 — will be expecting their first child together.

“Yes, Khloe and Tristan are expecting and they are absolutely thrilled,” a source tells PEOPLE. “This isn’t something they were in a rush to announce to the whole world, and it’s only been in just the past week or so that they’ve felt comfortable telling most of their inner circle. Things were complicated a bit by Kylie’s announcement as they don’t want to be seen as intruding on that moment for her but it is now reaching a point where Khloe doesn’t want to be openly lying to people, and just staying quiet isn’t going to work anymore.”

Adding, “This is something Khloe has wanted for years and years and yet it’s more than that: she didn’t want it unless she was in the right relationship for it. She never let it happen with Lamar, intentionally, and she never considered it with James or French or anyone else she has seen. But this is such a wonderful moment for her: not only is she going to be a mother, she is going to be raising a child with a man she truly loves. Everyone is over the moon for them both.”

But the journey leading up to her pregnancy was difficult, emotionally-exhausting, and frustrating at times.

In the season 9 finale of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kardashian admitted she “fake-tried” to get pregnant with ex-husband Lamar Odom.

“I was married, but I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest so I just kept pretending I was doing it,” said Kardashian, who wed Odom, 37, in 2009 after a whirlwind, month-long courtship.

“When I was doing my fertility treatments, they were more so for Lamar,” she added. “I had to stop because there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage.”

Kardashian and Odom’s marriage came to an end after the former basketball player’s cheating scandal and drug relapse – causing her file for divorce in 2013.

“I knew it wasn’t the right situation to bring a child into, and I think I’ve done a lot of covering up for him — even when it made me look like I was the problem,” says Khloé in the clip. “But I was fine taking on that burden on my shoulders, because he had a lot of other deeper s— to deal with.”

Kardashian eventually moved on with rapper French Montana, but the pregnancy rumors continued to follow her.

“I feel like I’ve been pregnant for six years!” the reality star told PEOPLE in 2014. “I used to get offended, like, ‘Do I look fat today?’ or ‘Why are they saying that?’ But they just say it. Before I was like, ‘Do I have a baby bump? Is my belly sticking out?’ But no. I mean, one day the rumor will be true, I hope, but who knows? Until then, it is what it is.”

But fears of not being able to conceive continued to haunt the youngest Kardashian sister.

During last season’s KUWTK,  Kim Kardashian West took her sister to her fertility specialist to explore the possibility of Khloé becoming her surrogate — where Khloé received some unsettling news about her own fertility.

After an unscheduled ultraound, the doctor informs Khloé that there are fewer follicles in her uterus for a woman her age.

“Shut the f— up,” Khloé responded. “This is definitely not all how I thought this appointment was going to go. What if I can’t get pregnant?”

But, despite the tough road, Kardashian’s dream of becoming a mom is slowly unfolding.

Kardashian’s pregnancy comes days after sources confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday that Kylie Jenner is expecting a baby girl with her boyfriend Travis Scott. She is due in February.

Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye West are expecting their third child after hiring a surrogate to help them expand their family.

This Is Us Predicted the Kardashian-Jenner Baby Boom: 'Next Week, There'll Be a Bazillion More of Them'

This Is Us Predicted the Kardashian-Jenner Baby Boom: 'Next Week, There'll Be a Bazillion More of Them'

by Aurelie Corinthios @ PEOPLE.com

The universe works in mysterious ways — and in an almost unbelievable sequence of events, the much-anticipated season 2 premiere of This Is Us predicted a Kardashian-Jenner baby boom just hours after news broke that Khloé Kardashian is pregnant.

SPOILER ALERT: The following story contains details from Tuesday’s season premiere of This Is Us.

In a scene from Tuesday’s season premiere of the beloved NBC series, Justin Hartley‘s character Kevin Pearson FaceTimed his girlfriend Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) after leaving the set of his movie in Los Angeles, asking her if there’s any chance she could fly in. She told him she couldn’t make it because her mom is sick, bemoaning the fact that she would be missing out on celeb-spotting a Kardashian.

“The Kardashians aren’t going anywhere,” he reassured her. “They’re like gremlins — I promise next week there will be a bazillion more of them.”

RELATED: We’re Live with the Cast of This Is Us at the Season 2 Premiere – Join Our Viewing Party Now

Ironically, the scene was filmed long before news broke Friday that Kris Jenner‘s youngest daughter Kylie, 20, is expecting a baby girl with her rapper boyfriend Travis Scott. News of Kylie’s pregnancy was swiftly followed by her older sister Khloé’s own baby news on Tuesday: The 33-year-old reality star is expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson. And sister Kim Kardashian West, 36, is expecting her third child with husband Kanye West in January via a surrogate.

Though none of the women have publicly commented on the news, a source told PEOPLE on Tuesday that “over the moon” Kylie and Khloé are both “due around the same time.”

“They are approximately four months along,” the source said. “Kylie loves how close-knit her family is and is thrilled to bring that to her own family. She feels more prepared than ever, especially since she will be sharing this journey with Khloé.”

“They are looking at it like a unifying experience for them as sisters,” the source added. “Getting pregnant at the same time was totally unplanned, but they are really happy about it.”

This Is Us airs Tuesdays (9 p.m. ET) on NBC, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians season 14 premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on E!

“Families can try out their favorite cookie flavors in the form of brownies, cupcakes, and blondies, while they wait for the real thing once a year during Girl Scout Cookie season,” said Girl Scouts of the USA chief revenue officer Barry Horowitz in a statement.

GSC loyalists are, to put it mildly, freaking out.

The mixes, now available nationwide, retail for $3.29 each — almost $2 less than what you’d pay for a box of cookies.

Easily the best part of all this news is the fact that we will now be able to eat Girl Scout Cookie dough, something we never thought would be possible in our lifetimes!

This Is Us Shocker: Is This How Milo Ventimiglia's Jack Pearson Died? Twitter Goes Crazy

by Lanford Beard and Michele Corriston @ PEOPLE.com

This Is Us fans have long speculated what exactly caused the mysterious death of series patriarch, Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) — now they may finally have an answer.

On the NBC hit’s season 2 premiere, fans learned circumstances that could have led to the beloved character’s death. And, as is custom with the tear-jerking drama, many, many tissues were required to get through the jaw-dropping moment.

WARNING: Spoilers ahead …

The episode opened with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack separated — but she decides she can’t give up on their relationship and tries to bring him home.

“I’m still really upset, and I don’t think I’m ready to talk about all that yet, but I shouldn’t have let you leave,” she pleads. “Because that’s not what we do. That’s not who we are. That’s not us.”

Jack insists that he is an alcoholic: “I have been drunk for weeks, and I thought I had it under control, like the first time, but I have a problem, Rebecca. And I’ve hidden it from you for a very long time. And I’ve hidden it from my kids, and I need to get a handle on it before I can walk back into that house. I’m sorry, baby. I am very embarrassed, and I am very sorry. I need to fix this on my own.”

Rebecca knocks on the door again and demands, “Get in the car, Jack. You are my husband, and I am your wife, and if you have a problem, we will fix it together.”

They kiss, and he obliges.

“A few months from now, everything will be back to normal,” she says.

Cut to the teenage Pearson kids sobbing as Kate (Chrissy Metz) says, “We have to find Kev. He needs to hear it from me.”

And at the end of the episode, Rebecca pulls up to a house with bags of Jack’s possessions, only to find it burnt to the ground, with firefighters surrounding the scene. She screams.

Did Jack die in the fire? Only time will tell — and Twitter is freaking out.

Jack’s big reveal comes after endless theorizing, hair-pulling and gnashing of teeth since it was revealed he is dead in episode 5, “The Game Plan.”

Then, join our editors as they bring you expert insight and can’t-miss social buzz during the premiere episode of the hit NBC drama.

Clues were doled out, characters — including Jack’s daughter Kate — assigned blame to themselves, and still very little could prepare fans for the inevitable, “heart-wrenching” discovery.

Ventimiglia’s costars, who have shed tears while watching episodes along with fans, have had plenty to say about his character’s eventual demise — even if they weren’t always able to give up key details for fear of spoiling the twist-heavy series.

I think Jack died the way that he lived, by always trying to do the right thing,” said Sterling K. Brown, who plays son Randall. “His death is in fitting with the type of father and the husband that he always tried to be, even when he fell short of the mark.”

Ventimiglia himself asked viewers to focus on Jack’s life, saying, “I would urge people to … just accept that Jack has limited time, and know that every moment he has with his kids, with his wife, is going to be the most important thing to him.”

Pitbull Lends Private Plane to Rescue Cancer Patients Stranded in Hurricane-Ravaged Puerto Rico

Pitbull Lends Private Plane to Rescue Cancer Patients Stranded in Hurricane-Ravaged Puerto Rico

by Alexia Fernandez @ PEOPLE.com

Pitbull is lending a hand to those in desperate need.

The Miami-based rapper, 36, sent a private jet to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico so that cancer patients could receive treatment within the United States.

Puerto Rican Congresswoman Jenniffer Gonzalez thanked the singer in a Spanish-language tweet on Tuesday, writing, “Thank you @pitbull for lending your private plane to move cancer patients from PR to USA so that they can get chemo.”

In a statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday, the rapper, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, said, “Thank God we’re blessed to help. Just doing my part.”

Several stars have been raising money and giving back to people stranded in the island after Hurricane Maria left them without running water and electricity.

Vietnam war veteran, Miguel Olivera, told CNN Tuesday that he was down to his last vial of insulin, which was in danger of spoiling in his refrigerator.

When asked how the hurricane compares to the Vietnam War, the 75-year-old responded, “The hurricane is worse.”

Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony led efforts in providing relief to those in Puerto Rico.

“What’s on my mind is what’s going on in Puerto Rico. The devastation is beyond belief,” Lopez said in an Instagram post backstage from her Las Vegas residency show. “Me and my cousin still haven’t been able to hear from our families over there.”

“What’s foremost on my mind and many others is trying to figure out the best way to help,” she added. “Today, Puerto Rico needs our help. I urge you to support and donate to the efforts of the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Areizaga. Together we can help rebuild our island, and the Caribbean.”

Country Duo Big & Rich Show Us Their Softer Side and Reveal Who’s More Romantic

by Mariah Haas @ PEOPLE.com

When it comes to country duo Big & Rich’s soft side, Big Kenny and John Rich admit that their music is actually inspired by that special someone.

“A few songs in there specifically for me, I wrote ‘em for my woman,” Kenny tells PEOPLE Now. “Having someone in my life like my wife, like John’s, well you want those kind of songs that will make ‘em feel good about everything.”

As for which bandmate is more romantic?  “He’s the universal minister of love,” shares Rich. “You really can’t compete with that.”

Explains Kenny: “Well you know there’s one thing to say you’re romantic then there’s another thing to you know have someone in your life that makes you want to be romantic and my woman makes me want to be romantic.”

Specifically, Kenny, says that the duo’s new song, “Turns Me On,” off of their latest album Did It For the Party was inspired by his wife of 12 years, Christiev Carothers.

“It talks about the crazy things,” shares Kenny. “Like clothes left on the floor or brush in the sink or things like that you would think would bother me—but no. ‘It turns me on. I ain’t lying.’”

Teases Rich: “Kenny likes it.”

Along with their romantic songs, Big & Rich are also known for their more risqué tunes, including their hit party anthem, “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).”

“There’s been just hundreds of thousands of horses saved,” Kenny says of the smash single, which first debuted 13 years ago.

“Equality for equines,” explains Rich. “Equine equality.”

“And it also somehow may have started a whole new baby boom,” adds Kenny.

And when it came to their families’ reactions to the suggestive lyrics, Rich admits they weren’t too concerned.

“Granny’s a little risqué herself,” shares Rich. “Granny will flat-out tell you.”

He continues: And my dad’s a preacher, so the first time he heard ‘Save a Horse (Ride A Cowboy),’ he gave me that: ‘You sure you ought to be…’ Course I told him, ‘You know 10 percent everything it makes goes back to the church daddy.’ And he goes, ‘As long as you’re doing that.’”

Nate Berkus Shares How His Entertaining Style Has Changed Since Welcoming Daughter Poppy

Nate Berkus Shares How His Entertaining Style Has Changed Since Welcoming Daughter Poppy

by Megan Stein @ PEOPLE.com

Nate Berkus is the expert on all things party planning. But since becoming a father to one-year-old daughter, Poppy, the designer’s go-to entertaining style has had a few changes.

“We entertain around her nap schedule now,” Berkus, artistic advisor for LG Studio, told PEOPLE at a breakfast on June 8, which celebrated the sleek line of high-end appliances he helped design.

RELATED: WATCH: Jessie James Decker Gives a Tour of Her Lovely Florida Beach House

But when Poppy isn’t snoozing, Berkus, 44, and husband Jeremiah Brent, 31, keep her busy with poolside play dates that are a far cry from a formal outdoor gathering.

“Our home is now filled with blow up toys from Target in the pool as opposed to margaritas,” Berkus said.

WATCH THIS: Designer Nate Berkus ‘Can’t Wait to Be a Family of 3!’

And the menu planning is even simpler.

“We throw food on the barbecue, we’ve actually even had a taco truck come once,” Berkus said. “We do put out snacks for the little ones, and they sit and throw them in the pool.”

Although the guest list has been tweaked to include Poppy’s younger crowd, the design-savvy couple couldn’t be happier with their new scene.

“It’s a welcome change,” Berkus said.

Khloé Kardashian with Tristan Thompson in Cleveland Together as Pregnancy News Is Revealed

Khloé Kardashian with Tristan Thompson in Cleveland Together as Pregnancy News Is Revealed

by Karen Mizoguchi @ PEOPLE.com

Khloé Kardashian and NBA boyfriend Tristan Thompson are together in Cleveland, Ohio, amid news that they are expecting a baby.

On Monday, the mother-to-be, 33, shared a photo of Lake Erie on Snapchat along with the caption: “I’m back!”

And on Tuesday, Thompson, 26, was spotted at the first day of the Cleveland Cavaliers training camp in Independence. The power forward practiced with teammates LeBron James, Richard Jefferson, Kyle Korver and J.R. Smith. Newest team member Dwyane Wade was not in attendance.

Thompson, who is already a father to 9-month-old son Prince Oliver with his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig, spoke to the media but did not discuss his relationship with Kardashian or the baby news.

“I got to take my two months and enjoy them. Be with my family and decompress,” he said about his off-season this year. “Because 12 months of basketball will drive you nuts.”

The father-to-be also attended media day on Monday, during which he took new portraits for the 2018 season.

Kardashian and Thompson, who have been dating since September 2016, “are absolutely thrilled” about the baby news, according to a source.

“This is something Khloé has wanted for years and years and yet it’s more than that: she didn’t want it unless she was in the right relationship for it. She never let it happen with Lamar, intentionally, and she never considered it with James or French or anyone else she has seen,” a source previously told PEOPLE about Khloé’s marriage to Lamar Odom and her past romances with James Harden and French Montana.

Khloé’s pregnancy comes days after sources confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday that Kylie is expecting a baby girl with her boyfriend Travis Scott. In fact, the sisters are due around the same time.

“Kylie is over the moon about her pregnancy. Khloé and Kylie are both due around the same time. They are approximately four months along,” an insider close to the family recently told PEOPLE.

“Kylie loves how close-knit her family is and is thrilled to bring that to her own family. She feels more prepared than ever, especially since she will be sharing this journey with Khloé,” the insider said, adding, “They are looking at it like a unifying experience for them as sisters.”

Sister Kim Kardashian West and her husband Kanye West are also expecting. The couple, who married in May 2014, will be welcoming their third child after hiring a surrogate to help them expand their family. They are already parents to 4-year-old daughter North West and 21-month-old son Saint West.

Khloé recently revealed that Cleveland has become her home away from home during a recent appearance on Steve Harvey‘s show, Steve.

“I do really love Cleveland, I really enjoy it,” she told Harvey about jetting back and forth from Los Angeles to Ohio. “I love the best of both worlds.”

A source told PEOPLE in July that Kardashian and Thompson are house-hunting together. They’re not moving in together officially just yet, but the athlete (who has a home in Cleveland) is looking to rent a place in Los Angeles, according to the insider.

“Khloé is just the happiest,” said the source. “She loves spending every day with Tristan.”

Chip and Joanna Gaines Share Their Hilarious First Date Story

Chip and Joanna Gaines Share Their Hilarious First Date Story

by Megan Stein @ PEOPLE.com

Chip and Joanna Gaines are the definition of marriage goals, but their relationship didn’t necessarily have a fairytale start.

In the first chapter of The Magnolia Storyreleased as a sneak peek today, the Fixer Upper dream team spills the details of how they met — and it wasn’t exactly love at first sight.

Joanna agreed to go out on a date with Chip after meeting him and his roommate “Hot John” — who she actually tried to approach minutes earlier, but was too shy — in the waiting room of her dad’s auto shop. She had second thoughts, however, after Chip arrived an hour and a half late to pick her up.

“He didn’t apologize for being late, either. He had so much confidence. I don’t know. I can’t explain it. Only Chip could be an hour and a half late and have no one mad about it,” Joanna writes.

The chapter continues to describe the timeline of their relationship, which didn’t actually start until months after they first went out, when Chip (in typical guy fashion) finally called Joanna back.

“I’d made a bet with Hot John to see who could hold out the longest before calling our dates back,” Chip writes “I really wanted that fifty dollars from John! That’s the only reason I didn’t call.”

After they went out a second time, the rest was history.

Exfoliate for Healthier, Youthful Skin

by Bob Linger @ The Grand Beauty Spa

Exfoliate your skin on a regular routine to help eliminate dead skin cells that accumulate on the surface. These dead cells accumulate more as we age, due to slower skin regeneration. Removing the dead skin cells lets moisture in, keeping the skin more hydrated, smooth, youthful and glowing. A good exfoliation regimen depends on skin type and product. For drier more sensitive skin, one to two times a week is sufficient. For oily and less sensitive skin, two to three times a week is good. Using a less abrasive product allows for more exfoliation days without irritating the skin. Always […]

Taylor Swift Reveals One of the ‘Best Ideas’ That Got Left Out of ‘Look’ Video in BTS Clip (It Involves Her Cat!)

Taylor Swift Reveals One of the ‘Best Ideas’ That Got Left Out of ‘Look’ Video in BTS Clip (It Involves Her Cat!)

by Melody Chiu @ PEOPLE.com

Taylor Swift‘s music video for her smash hit single “Look What You Made Me Do” was meticulously planned down to the last detail, but in a new behind the scenes clip from the video shoot the superstar reveals one little change she would have made.

“The absolute idiocy of this scene is that we’re, like, robbing a streaming company as if they have a vault of cash and all the girls are shoving money into their really well-coordinated, primary color, awesome Gucci outfits wearing ridiculous kitten masks,” Swift says in the clip shared exclusively with PEOPLE.

Holding up her own cat mask, Swift realizes the ears don’t quite match those of her beloved feline, Olivia (named after Law & Order: SVU‘s Olivia Benson).

“We really, really should’ve stapled her ears!” exclaims Swift, who has two Scottish Fold cats. “God, you get the best ideas after it’s too late!”

The star, 27, also jokes around with her extras in the video and marvels over their costumes. “Where did we find this? It’s genius,” she says.

In the “Stream Co.” scene, Swift’s nails are painted a green shade similar to Spotify’s logo. After removing her entire catalog from Spotify in 2014 and explaining to TIME “there should be an inherent value placed on art,” Swift celebrated selling more than 10 million copies of her Grammy-winning album 1989 by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services in June.

Swift released the first single off her new album Reputation (out Nov. 10) on Aug. 25, and the song racked up just under 8 million streams on that day alone.
